Message	He is saying that those large areas above and below the path the air take to flow through the IC will remain relatively unused. The air won't flow through the entire thing equally, it's trying to go straight through from the inlet to the outlet. While there may be a lot of total surface area on the IC, not all of that is being used efficiently.
